An apprenticeship provides on the job training for employees who are 16 years old or over. The programme normally lasts for twelve to twenty-four months. During this time the apprentice, who may be an existing member of staff, will be entitled to pay and the following benefits:
- A nationally recognised qualification
- Flexible ‘on the job’ training
- The opportunity to work with experienced colleagues
- English and maths courses available
- 16 plus
- Not in full time education
- Living in England

- A work experience placement
