k2e Employees Complete Safeguarding Training
(Posted on 07/09/16)
Two kickstart2employment employees have successfully completed Life Goals & Safeguarding Training in association with Interserve Learning & Employment.
Both Claire Hinchcliffe, Office Manager, and Gemma Williams, Programme Manager, attended the course, as they are responsible for managing the onboarding process of learners and staff for kickstart2employment. The course focused on the ways we support the welfare of our staff and learners when they are attending our training programmes, which both Claire and Gemma found extremely valuable.
Course attendees were required to identify and understand the varied safeguarding issues that may be affecting staff and learners. These could range from types of abuse, such as bullying, grooming and neglect, as well as issues relating to mental health, assault, radicalisation and drugs.
Once these issues were highlighted, reporting processes were comprehensively discussed and attendees were fully briefed on completing incident reports and following internal escalation procedures.
Commenting on the course, Claire said:
“Both Gemma and I found the Life Goals & Safeguarding Training incredibly useful. Any issues highlighted by our tutors are reported to us and we are able to assist in the best way possible via our robust escalation procedures. We would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to know more about how to deal with challenging safeguarding issues. We would like to thank Kim Curtain for her support at Interserve Learning & Employment.”
